Digital books from South America to the World

This is the first time we are presenting all our digital books in one single post. We are passionate about South America. While we like to share stories, recipes, or other important aspects of the many countries we have visited, we have written many books with various topics over the years. Some of these we have converted to digital books. These e-books are mainly based on the places we have lived in, either North America or South America they are the result of being immersed in each countries culture.

Yanira’s interest in food, the Latin American flavors have influenced our kitchen. In effort to recreate some familiar flavors, and following new trends here in America; i.e. Quinoa has been a main staple food in the Andes for centuries, Yanira found it very interesting how it was having a big discovery here in the USA. It is true that we know more about this superfood nowadays than before. This inspired creating a Quinoa book with some of the traditional Peruvian recipes. Often times simplicity is best especially when dealing with good ingredients.

10 Authentic Peruvian Quinoa Recipes

Quinoa is a staple mainstay of Peruvian diet in the highlands, to the point of boredom. The much hyped “super grain”, which by the way is a misnomer because it is instead a seed, forms the basis of quick, simple, and inexpensive healthy meals. As a return to the basics we explore these quick and easy Peruvian quinoa dishes. The recipes we provide are the foundation for classic quinoa meals, in many ways, these 10 authentic Peruvian quinoa recipes are part of our cultural roots and make for comfort food. It doesn´t include recipes made with products derived from quinoa such as flours, pasta, cereal, pops, flakes, and anything else that people are making nowadays. All you need for these recipes is quinoa Perlada or Pearl quinoa, which is the only kind we had or were familiar with before the rest of the world discovered quinoa.

On Pisco

Pisco, the Peruvian Brandy, is getting more recognition worldwide. I would like for people to recognize “Pisco” in its own right. I know that the more we talk about it and show people what exactly Pisco is the better it would be.

Pisco is made in two countries in South America; Peru and Chile. We are lucky enough to find Pisco for sale here in the United States imported from both countries, and Pisco is also available is some countries in Europe.

Most people are familiar with the Pisco Sour, but once more both Peru and Chile claim it as their national drink, and that is okay. Pisco is a product to be proud of, and the recipes that we share are easy to prepare and make for an enjoyable treat.

A Pisco Short Guide: 10 Pisco Recipes

The Short Guide to Pisco focuses on the true elixir of Peruvian brandy, giving the main ways of preparing pisco drinks. Pisco has a long history staring with Spanish settlers in South America developing the local made distilled grapes to a refined product with strict controls. Pisco used to be the happening drink in California during the Gold Rush, and now is making the return around the world as a high-class cosmopolitan drink. Pisco has many varieties produced by well over three dozen vineyards, making it a complex affair to properly appreciate. Knowledge of pisco grades, brands, and drink styles is a hallmark of trending sophistication. In North America and Europe most liquor stores and bartenders still will not have heard of the drink, only the larger diversified importers and the most educated bartenders will rise to the occasion. Peruvian Pisco is up and coming, and this short e-book draws upon over 20 years’ of experience with the national drink from my home country of Peru. It is time for the world to have a break from the bulk distributors of tequila, whiskey, and rum and enjoy the more select and equally historically based distilled spirit of Pisco.

The Legend of Donnie Hatt

“Donnie Hatt was a real son of a bitch. Dozens of people gladly would attest to this fact, and all of them had nobody to blame except for themselves.” In the fast-paced real estate market of Las Vegas, everybody was looking to get rich. On the Las Vegas Strip, a middle-aged woman goes from person to person, looking for a clue…”Excuse me sir, have you seen Donnie Hatt? No. Have you heard of Donnie Hatt? Oh yeah, are you looking for him? Yes, he’s been missing for over a year.” The Legend of Donnie Hatt: how one man walked across Area 51. Researched and written in 2009, published in 2010, this short story follows in the context of the 2008 great financial crash that wiped out property values in Las Vegas. The story aims to be a Nevada cult classic.

While living in Santiago de Chile and having to encounter many obstacles to accomplish often times simple tasks James’ mind started working once more, and took, at times, real life experiences to create this wonderful science fiction story based on us humans.

Replaced Evolution

The story’s approach is to push the limits of science fiction, from the defining essence of what it is to be human, the biology of alien life, and the changes possible over tens of thousands of years. Some individuals may witness these revolutions and shifts due to extreme time relativity during interstellar travel, and others may be involved in forcing the changes. The main character of this story does both and breaks the cycle of nature-determined evolution response to environment. Why should technologically advanced societies rely on random mutation? It is irresponsible. Eventually all advanced life must grapple with replacing evolution.

James’ last novel takes place in the majestic city of Cuzco and this time the main character is a woman. Taking in consideration the richness of the Inca culture combined with human feelings and emotions; such as greed, honesty, curiosity, etc. makes of this novel a fascinating story while inviting you to take a trip to Cuzco the city of gold.
