About Us

Welcome to SouthAmericatotheWorld!

A blog created by James and Yanira Wise. This is a space where they show their passion for South America. Yanira, born in Peru, moved to the USA back in 2000. Likes to maintain a keen interest in South America; on the culture, food and travel. James, an American geologist, specialized in the Andes, keeps working on the geology and exploration of South America. James and Yanira have been moving back and forth between Americas. They spent time in Nevada, where Yanira gained her citizenship. Then they moved to Santiago de Chile for 2 years. After this period they moved back to the USA, living in Colorado for 5 years. Presently they are back to South America, living now in Quito-Ecuador.

On their blog, they like to show to the world what South America offers. Their richness in culture, flavors, customs, colors, and what makes South America a special place. The many topics of their posts are based on their own experiences from the many years living in few countries. They share their travel experiences on some posts. While other posts are recipes, inspired by the food they have enjoyed visiting these countries. Their blog tries to break from the norm established by other blogs, these being travel blogs, or food blogs. These other travel blogs, most of the time are dedicated to sell tours, and regarding the food blogs, they are good as just that. Their goal is to put South America on the map for tourists to visit, but also give them a unique perspective.

Because of the many years traveling between continents. They have written some books, and some e-books. These can be found on the blog. James has been perfecting his passion for photography. He created the “100 Series” and he has photo-galleries, based on his many travels, all over the world. People can have access to it by visiting his web page jamesmwise.com All the pictures published on their blog belong to them.

They are one of the very few bloggers who don’t have any ads on their blog. The only source of income they have from the blog is through the sales of their own products. Mainly their books and e-books. If you like to support them, buy some of their books. The books they would recommend are; “Doors of South America” “Hot Springs of The Andes” and “100 Series” They are working on this blog, driven by their passion for South America, hoping people would visit these countries. Always follow the regulations established by their own countries. It is good to visit embassy pages before visiting an unknown country. To be aware of current conditions and safety plans. Many of the countries in South America are very volatile. It pays off to be well informed.
